David Cerveny is an assistant professor of the practice at the md传媒国产剧 College Carroll School of Management, where he teaches courses in business law. Cerveny has been a practicing attorney for more than 25 years and has deep and wide-ranging experience in a number of fields, including intellectual property, litigation, strategic transactions, international law, corporate governance, compliance, and public and private corporate fundraising. He also has extensive experience with the operation of international companies.
He served for 15 years as chief legal officer and on the leadership teams of two international publicly-traded companies, including Dutch biotechnology company聽uniQure and聽ConforMIS, Inc., a US medical device company with significant operations in Germany and other European countries. He has managed highly diverse international teams, led acquisitions of domestic and foreign companies, and negotiated a broad range of high-value strategic agreements.
Cerveny is a registered patent attorney and has extensive experience as a patent litigator, strategic advisor, licensing attorney, and chief intellectual property counsel. He played a lead role in developing a patent portfolio that was ranked as the top medical device portfolio in the country, and he has extensive experience in marrying the business and legal components required for a successful intellectual property strategy.
