Studied philosophy, theology and psychology at the Catholic University of America and the Katholieke Universiteit te Leuven. Research and teaching concentrates in questions and problems found in the fields of religion and ethics. Has lectured and taught at many universities in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Active research interest in Jesuit thought, Ignatian pedagogy and formative education.

Founding instructor of annual courses that include immersion experience of pilgrimage and of the work of Jesuit Refugee Services.
